Sustainable design involves the development and application of integrated, whole-building design solutions that create energy efficient buildings, deplete fewer natural resources, generate less waste, and provide healthy indoor environments for the building occupants. The industry standard for measuring sustainability is provided by the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) rating system. James W. Buckley and Associates, Inc. has several LEED Accredited Professionals on staff. In order to earn this accreditation, the professional must have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes.

Regardless of whether or not the client decides to seek official LEED Accreditation, Buckley and Associates’ LEED Professionals will use their knowledge and expertise to create the most environmentally friendly school that the budget allows. In addition, they will act as consultant and valuable resource to the Board on any ‘green’ issue.
